Kobe Tower
The white steel pipes of the Kobe’s Maritime Museum resemble the prow of a giant sailing ship, contrast with the orange of the Port Tower, which was designed to look like a traditional tsuzumi hand drum-albeit a 108m high version. The tower, built in 1963, is another testament to the effectiveness of earthquake-proof design having survived the devastating earthquake on January 17, 1995.
